great after work-out smoothie

I am a big smoothie fan!
whether it's for breakfast, a snack or dessert, smoothies are a good and tasty way to squeeze in part of my daily intake of fruits in one drink. Here's a recipe for a delicious smoothie that's great after a work out.

ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh mango (chopped)
- 1 cup of orange Gatorade
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries

this makes 2 servings (about 2 1/2 cups)
since i usually just make it for myself, I make it with half of the amount of each ingredient this recipe calls for.

I got this recipe from a book my sister gave me called, "Super Smoothies". It has pretty good recipes and gives you a lot of info on the nutritional value of many of the ingredients such as fruits, veggies and other ingredients such as almond milk, flax seed oil etc.
This is a great after workout smoothie because it can help our bodies refuel on some of the important nutrients we lose after a work out such as potassium (wich raspberries provide) and replace our body's carbohydrate stores. It has a great taste, it's easy to make and it helps my body recover after a work out, what more can i ask for?
The ingredients are easily accessible in most grocery stores and are fairly inexpensive, the most expensive item were the frozen raspberries when i went to the store. Make sure you pick a good mango, because it sure makes a difference. The sweetness of the mango adds great taste and blends well with the rest of the ingredients. Enjoy!
